Hardware settings menu contains various hardware-related parameters , which can be adjusted in order to fix different scanner issues or make working process more convenient.
Brightness settings - allows to adjust the projectors light brightness depending on the scanned object and external lighting. Recommended lines to stripes brightness ratio is 5:3.
Model - displays the currently connected projector and allows to set the correct one in case of errors.
Resolution - displays the current projectors resolution.
Adapter number - number assigned to the projector by the Windows screen system -1 (numeration starts from 0). This setting is useful if there is more than 1 monitor connected besides the projector.
Delay - the time between projected pattern changes in milliseconds. Delay increase can help when the cameras performance is lowered and there is not enough time to capture an image before the pattern changes, which leads to vertical stripes artifacts on scan surface.
Frequency - should match the analogous parameter in Windows.
Drawing method - selects the image output method for the projector. Changing the method can help when pattern proportions are incorrect or patterns are not switching properly.
Geometry snap number - setting the number of projector lights when scanning. Reducing or increasing the geometry snap number from the default value affects the scanning speed, surface quality and data volume. Individual selection for each PC is recommended.
Restart - When pressed, the projector is restarted. It is recommended to use the button when there are problems with the projection or changing the backlight.
Swap and rotate cameras - used to put camera images into correct positions.
Model - displays the currently connected cameras model and allows to specify the correct one if needed.
Resolution - allows to select a lower camera resolution in order to speed up the scanning process and reduce the disk space needed for scans at the cost of scan detail level.
Initial exposure - allows to specify the default exposure value for scanning.
Turbo - activates fictional CPU load in order to maintain camera signal (a 100% CPU load will be displayed in Windows task manager). Active by default.
Preview smoothing - enables pixel smoothing on camera images. In some cases turning this function on or off can make it easier to evaluate lens sharpness.
